That is exactly why we want to bring our community together – FOR THE DOGS!
Hosted by Lori Cohen – The Beagle Alliance, John Ramer – Kindness Ranch, and Chelsey Marino – Keeper and Kin, this special evening is designed for anyone fostering, adopting, or even considering welcoming a former research dog from Ridglan Farms into their home AND of for the incredible organizations who are facilitating this journey.
We know that so many have the best of intentions and may feel a bit lost with some dogs who are a little more challenging than expected – a little more shutdown, anxious, or simply not behaving in ways you expected. WE GOT YOU!
We will open the floor to the intimate realities of what it means to care for a former research beagle, and the emotional weight that sometimes comes with helping a dog discover what freedom even means.
Because while the journey from LAB to LOVE and LAB to LAPS is centered around the dogs, it deeply impacts the humans walking alongside them too.
Many fosters and adopters arrive carrying the same questions:
- “What if I’m doing this wrong?”
- “Why is my dog afraid of everything?”
- “Will they ever trust me?”
- “Is this normal?”
- “Is it ok if I just want to foster?”
The answer, more often than not, is yes. And perhaps even more importantly: You are not alone.
Together, Lori, John, and Chelsey have worked with hundreds of former research beagles successfully transitioning into loving homes, just like yours. Between rescue work, placement support, and behavioural guidance, they have stood beside countless individuals and families navigating both the challenges and the extraordinary moments that come with giving these dogs a second chance.
This evening exists to build community around that experience.
Whether you are fostering short-term, preparing to adopt permanently, or simply exploring whether this path is right for you, this event is about support with honesty and without judgment. It is about creating a place where people can ask hard questions, share difficult moments, celebrate milestones, and connect with others who truly understand the journey.
Former research dogs do not just need safe homes. They need patient humans. And those patient humans need support too.
At the heart of this evening is a simple message:
You do not have to figure this out by yourself.
There is a community standing beside you, caring not only for the dogs, but for you as well.
The Beagle Alliance believes strongly in the power of community and in being able to have you join in on powerful conversations. We offer all of these Events for FREE, however should you like to donate a small gift towards these efforts, we would be so grateful. THANK YOU!
