February Town Hall – Dr. Stacy Lopresti-Goodman

Research shows that dogs rehomed from labs make great companions

Our recent virtual town hall with Dr. Stacy Lopresti-Goodman was nothing short of extraordinary.

Dr. Lopresti-Goodman delivered a masterclass in both intellect and compassion, walking us through robust data from the United States and Canada with clarity that made complex research feel accessible. What resonated most deeply was her thoughtful comparison between former research dogs and what many casually call “pet beagles.” Side by side, the evidence spoke volumes.

For years, laboratories have insisted these dogs cannot be successfully rehomed into domestic life. This town hall quietly but powerfully dismantled that narrative. The data confirms what we witness every day: Lab to Love is not a slogan, it is a lived reality. Former research beagles are not broken. They are adaptable, resilient, and fully capable of thriving in loving homes.

Dr. Goodman distilled years of research into something both simple and profound: when given safety, patience, and care, these dogs flourish.

We strongly encourage you to take a listen. The depth of her studies is unmatched, and the information shared is essential for anyone who cares about animal welfare in North America. And stay tuned until the end, she shared a surprise announcement that left us celebrating and wishing her every success.

This is proof. This is hope. This is LAB to LOVE.

The Beagle Alliance believes strongly in the power of community and in being able to have you join in on powerful conversations. We offer all of these Town Hall events for FREE, however should you like to donate a small gift towards these efforts, we would be so grateful. THANK YOU!

Please consider speaking with your MP about animal free science. These innovative methods have already proven to be more effective for humans, less expensive - and of course would save the lives of so many animals.
