Lab Love Liberty: Beagle Rescue Mission Updates

Lab Love Liberty Tour 2025

Event Date: June, 2025

Lori Cohen, the Founder and Executive Director of The Beagle Alliance is thrilled to share some exciting updates! “First and foremost, thank you so much for all your heartfelt messages and emails about the Marvelous Margolis Rescue. Your words and congratulations mean the world to us and fuel our passion for rescuing more beagles from Canadian facilities.”

Recent News Coming out of the U.S.

We’ve also been receiving inquiries about the NIH (National Institutes of Health) release of beagles from their campus. We are pleased to announce that John Ramer of Kindness Ranch has written an insightful article about this development, which we’ve posted it below.

Collaboration with Kindness Ranch

We are excited and honoured to collaborate with Executive Director, John Ramer and Kindness Ranch to help find homes for beagles released by U.S. facilities. This partnership is pivotal in expanding our reach and impact, making sure these loving animals find their forever families in Canada.

Bringing Rescue Dogs Across Canada

While our incredible fosters from the Margolis Rescue care for Erica and Janet, we will be on the road this June with 10 to 15 former research beagles. The journey will take us from Calgary, across British Columbia, and eventually we will go east with dogs needing homes in Ontario and Quebec – it’s crucial for us to get applications from all over Canada!

Partnership with WestJet Cargo

Our hope and plan is to see more dogs released to us from Canadian facilities, with our amazing partner WestJet ensuring safe and stress-free travel for our sweet beagles. It’s proven to be far less stressful than long journeys across the country.

Expertise in Caring for Former Research Beagles

Chelsey Marino, our expert in working with former research beagles, will be working with us to enhance support to all of our fosters. Relying on her expertise allows us to provide even better care, ensuring a smooth transition for beagles going into a domestic situation – from LAB to LOVE!

Embrace the Summer Spirit: Become a Foster!

Summer is upon us in Canada—a time to be outdoors, get some exercise, and perhaps even ignite change! Interestingly, you can accomplish all of this by fostering a former research beagle. It’s not just an act of kindness but a rewarding experience indeed.

“Fostering a former research beagle can help you cover all those things.”

We encourage everyone across all provinces to send in their applications. If you’ve applied already, please send us a reminder email at adopt@beaglealliance.org.

Gratitude and New Beginnings

A huge shoutout to John and Katie from Kindness Ranch for collaborating with us on this vital life-saving mission. Together, we are committed to saving more lives and ensuring each beagle finds a loving home to flourish in.

We hope you are just as excited as we are for these upcoming rescues, and we’re eager to see these beagles thrive in their new homes across Canada.

Thank you for your continued support, and let’s keep working together to make a difference in these animals’ lives. For more updates and information, stay tuned!

Join us in sharing this journey and help us spread the word. Every action counts for these wonderful dogs!

Wyoming’s Kindness Ranch in Hartville is cheering this week’s shutdown of a notorious beagle testing lab and proposed federal legislation that would retire clinical test animals instead of killing them. Please consider speaking with your MP about animal free science. These innovative methods have already proven to be more effective for humans, less expensive - and of course would save the lives of so many animals.
