Executive Director Lori Cohen and TBA Volunteer Brenda Greschuk rescued five former research beagles who were united with foster families.
The Thrill of Liberation – Every rescue mission carries its own unique charms and challenges, but there’s something undeniably special about watching these former research dogs experience freedom for the first time. Our recent Exodus rescue was an amazing experience—these are the days that truly make our work shine.
The Beagle Alliance believes that it is our collective love for dogs that will make change for animals in research in Canada. They live in our hearts – can you imagine harnessing that love for change?
The Exodus rescue is a testament to what’s possible when a community comes together and focuses on what we have in common. Our journey continues, with each dog, being set free and bringing people together!
Eddie Huband of CityNews Winnipeg spoke with Executive Director Lori Cohen and Foster Families on April 20, 2025 after the Exodus Rescue by The Beagle Alliance, a Winnipeg, Manitoba-based organization.
We are on the last leg of the Exodus Rescue transport. We will head into Canada from the U.S. today.
Dogs Know No Borders.
In the midst of the current division between our countries, we can always count on the love people have for dogs to bring unity and a shared purpose.
Our focus is seeing former research dogs set free and enjoy the rest of their lives, but there is also joy in what the dogs bring to us humans. We all come together to care for them – the dogs bring us together.
This allows me – in a humble way – to feel that I am doing a little bit of God’s work to bring unity into the world.
It’s a blessing and so are the dogs and so are the humans.
It is Good Friday and God is good – all of the time.
~ Lori, Founder • Executive Director
Another sneak peak, before the big release tomorrow where the dogs and the fosters meet! Keep watching;
Transport is always an option!
As you know, we usually do not get much information about any of the dogs we set out to rescue.
This said, we do know that little Abe will be coming home to Canada this April. Abe has cancer and needs medication daily. We are told he is very calm, loves people and likes other calm female dogs.
ABE NEEDS A FOREVER FOSTER who will care for him for 1 year, and we are praying, for many years. The Beagle Alliance will care for him medically – you just give the LOVE!
