We are thrilled to announce that The Beagle Alliance, alongside Emmy Award-winning producer Steven Latham, will host the Canadian inaugural screening of The New Gold Standard on October 3rd at Scotiabank Theatre in Toronto.

Directed by Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Steven Latham, The New Gold Standard takes audiences inside leading research institutions, including Harvard and Stanford, to explore the rapidly evolving world of human-based research technologies and what they could mean for the future of medicine and animals in research.
This full-length documentary is a game changer, and we are humbled to be featured in a small but meaningful part of this important story.
Our Founder and Executive Director, Lori Cohen, and producer Steven Latham will both be in attendance to welcome you and celebrate this very special Canadian premiere.
The documentary also features the story first exposed by Animal Justice involving the St. Joseph’s dogs, as well as Ontario Premier Doug Ford’s response after learning that dogs were being used in testing and is premiering during the weekend they are holding Animal Justice’s Animal Law and Advocacy Conference.
Following the screening, we will gather at One Eyed Jack Restaurant & Bar for a casual meet-up to discuss the film, the future of research, and the changes already beginning to take place.
