JUSTIFY Is Back: Three People, Three Voices, One Important Conversation
We are so thrilled to welcome the members of JUSTIFY back to our FREE Town Hall!
Made up of Madeline Krasno, Lindsay Oliver, and Mallory Cormier, JUSTIFY brings together three incredible humans who share a commitment to advocacy, rescue, education, and creating change, while each continuing to do important work within their own worlds and areas of expertise.
And honestly, that is what makes catching up with them so much fun.
They may come together as JUSTIFY, but each has their own voice, their own work, and their own story to tell.
So, what have they been up to?
What has Madeline been speaking about?
Who has Mallory been rescuing?
And what has Lindsay been writing about?
We are going to find out!
Join us as we sit down with Madeline, Lindsay, and Mallory for a conversation about what they have been working on, what they are seeing in the world of animal advocacy and rescue, and what is happening behind the scenes in their own careers.
This is your chance to catch up, ask questions, and hear directly from three women who continue to show up, speak out, rescue, write, educate, and push important conversations forward.
And as always, our Town Hall is FREE and open to everyone.
JUSTIFY ABOUT/UPDATES
Justify has grown from a small, largely informal community into an established nonprofit with a growing network of current and former animal research personnel, stronger support infrastructure, and an increasingly visible public voice. We now offer private community spaces, weekly calls, resources, storytelling opportunities, webinars, and pathways for people with firsthand experience in animal research to participate in advocacy and systems change.
At the same time, Justify is bringing firsthand perspectives into broader conversations about research ethics, worker well-being, transparency, and the transition toward animal-free, human-relevant science through media, public education, institutional engagement, and creative storytelling. This includes Portraits from the Lab, our virtual art and storytelling exhibition, and an upcoming documentary created in partnership with Growing Kindness that explores the often-overlooked human impact of animal research.
BIOS
Lindsay Oliver (she/her) – President & CEO, Justify
Lindsay is an award-winning undercover investigator and author of Marshmallows Are Their Favorite: Undercover at a Primate Lab. She has conducted or overseen more than 100 investigations into some of the world’s most hidden industries. Her experiences working undercover inside animal research facilities inspired her to found Justify. She also serves as Executive Director of Animals International US.
Madeline Krasno (she/her) – Executive Director, Justify
Maddie is a former animal caretaker at the University of Wisconsin–Madison’s Harlow Primate Laboratory, where her work led to moral injury and a PTSD diagnosis. Her experience inside the lab, and later challenging efforts to limit open discussion about animal research, now informs her work as Co-Founder and Executive Director of Justify. She successfully challenged UW–Madison and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in free speech lawsuits that drew national attention to censorship, transparency, and the ability to openly question publicly funded research.
Mallory Cormier (she/her) – Treasurer & Secretary, Justify
Mallory is a Certified Veterinary Technician and Founder & Executive Director of Save The Buns, Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming rabbits transitioning out of laboratory settings. Her earlier work in a pharmaceutical rabbit breeding facility gave her firsthand insight into the care and conditions of animals used in research—work that continued to affect her long after she left the field. As Co-Founder, Board Secretary and Board Treasurer of Justify, she now shares her story to support others, raises awareness of moral injury and PTSD in animal care work, and advocates for more compassionate systems and alternatives.
