Wisconsin dog breeding Ridglan Farm manager has veterinary license suspended

Richard Van Domelen, facility manager of Ridglan Farms, is now suspended from practicing veterinary medicine.

The emergency vote followed a surprise inspection that found record-keeping problems, after he was already facing scrutiny for delegating surgeries to non-veterinarians.

In light of the recent story about Nucro Technics in Scarborough, Ontario, part of that piece included the fact that they were sourcing beagles from Ridglan Farms in Wisconsin. Please take a look at what is going on with Ridglan Farms right now.

Obviously the tides are turning and the United States is ahead of Canada in terms of rehoming dogs from facilities but also in making these facilities accountable.

When will Canada follow suit – starting with transparency, rehoming and then animal free science?
