Former laboratory beagles begin new lives through Anola rescue

Foster families travel hundreds of kilometres

Twelve beagles that spent years in research laboratories are now beginning a new chapter, thanks to an Anola-based rescue organization that recently welcomed the dogs into foster homes across three provinces.

The dogs arrived in Manitoba after volunteers with The Beagle Alliance travelled to Kindness Ranch Animal Sanctuary in Wyoming to pick them up. The rescue group held a “beagle release” event on June 27, where foster families met the dogs for the first time and watched them take some of their first steps toward life outside a laboratory.
