Linus - One Beagle at a Time

We received a call to help find Linus a forever home after years spent in a South Korean testing facility.

Since that day in early 2024, we have helped deliver over 30 beagles, once harmed, into the loving arms of their new found families.

In 2025, our plan is that the number reaches 50.

ONE BEAGLE AT A TIME!

West - Every Doorway has a Story

Doorways, hallways, stairways and in all ways,
I was scared

Inside, outside, your side, my side,
I was scared,

Nighttime, daytime, this time, anytime
I was scared

Loud sounds, soft sounds, that sound, every sound
I was scared

But mostly doorways, the sure ways, the…
I know it’s going to hurt down these hallways – scared.

Doorways, hallways, stairways and in all ways,
I was scared, until now.

The Beagle Alliance and the humans they call friends helped me through a doorway to freedom, to safety, to a home where no harm exists – only love!

~ West (my momma calls me Burt now and I love it!)

EVERY DOORWAY HAS A STORY

Will you help The Beagle Alliance change the story for others like me?

Michael - Alone but Not Alone

Years spent in a laboratory,

Hearing the voices,

Smelling the fear,

ALONE BUT NOT ALONE.

Knowing there were others,

Helpless to help,

Waiting to die.

ALONE BUT NOT ALONE.

Longing for a loving touch

Living for a glance

Clinging to the faint hope….until

HOME AND NOT ALONE.

~ Michael was released from research while most in Canada are not. ~

WILL YOU HELP US REACH THE HEARTS OF CANADIANS
SO THAT ALL THE MICHAELS CAN GO HOME?

Orion - Innocent but Locked Up

Orion spent 8 ½ years in a testing facility.
Orion has stage 2 kidney disease.
Orion may only have 1–2 years left to experience FREEDOM.

The former research beagles we meet become the very examples of HUMANITY.
They do not waste time in un-forgiveness or in anger.
They forgive the very species who harmed them.

Orion spent 8 ½ years in a laboratory.
Orion has stage 2 kidney disease.
Orion may only have 1–2 years left to experience LOVE.

The former research beagles we meet become the very examples of RESILIENCE.
They soldier on, living and loving and playing.
They open their hearts to the very species who harmed them.

Because of YOU, Orion is getting the care he needs and the love he deserves!

PLEASE HELP US FREE THE INNOCENT.

Duke - When the World Gives you Lemons

My name is Duke, and this is my story.
Malnourished, neglected – I spent my time outdoors, longing to be included.

Until one day the ad read: “Giving this dog away to the first person who takes him”.
An angel was worried that I’d end up in the shelter, so she got there first.

This angel cared for me even when I started having seizures and peed in the house non-stop.
This angel called in The Beagle Alliance and together they arranged for the other angels to get me to my new home – to a human who wanted me forever.

I think that human is an angel too, because he takes me for walks, lets me sleep beside him and even works from home so that I’m never alone anymore.

My name is Duke, and the moral of my story is:
When the world gives you lemons, wait for the angels.

Duke’s name means “leader” and is a name of nobility and is attributed to those considered to be distinguished and charming.

The Beagle Alliance is honoured to have been given the opportunity to help Duke embrace who he is.

Bringing 50 Beagles from Lab to Love: An Incredible Journey

An exciting development dawns upon us at The Beagle Alliance, where compassion and dedication ensure a better future for our furry friends. I’m Lori Cohen, Executive Director of The Beagle Alliance, and I’m thrilled to share some monumental news with you. As we embrace this giving season, our mission is clear: to secure the release of 50 former research beagles from animal testing facilities in the U.S. and bring them back home to Canada in 2025.

It’s a massive undertaking. We are euphoric, grateful, but candidly—we need your help.

The Ambitious Mission: Welcoming 50 Beagles Home

This significant rescue initiative is not just a milestone but a cornerstone for many others potentially to follow. Picture 50 dogs, once confined to cages, now given a second chance to live, love, and roam free. While our hearts are full, the logistics and resources required for such a venture are substantial.

  • Foster-based Beginnings: A core aspect of our operation is our foster-based system. These dedicated homes provide a nurturing environment until the beagles find their forever homes.

  • Enrichment Centre: Our plans also encompass creating a Lab Love Liberty Enrichment Centre for former research beagles — a sanctuary if some of these incredible dogs need a stop along the way to their forever homes or some extra support adjusting to their newfound freedom.

Why We Need You: The Journey Isn’t Possible Alone

Welcoming 50 beagles represents more than numbers; it’s about lives. Lives that require love, patience and immense support. As we prepare to bring them to Manitoba, we’re eager for them to go directly into loving homes. But if homes aren’t immediately available, they need a soft landing transition.

"These dogs deserve to go from LAB to LOVE."

Here’s how you can make a difference:

  • Be a Foster Hero: Open your home and provide a loving transition.

  • Donate: Your funds help cover transportation, medical checks, and enrichment needs.

  • Spread the Word: Share our mission within your community and networks.

Mapping the Miles: A Nation-wide Commitment

Imagine this: travel itineraries mapping out weeks, months, of meeting new fosters from east to west. Our journey is extensive. Each mile travelled represents pathways to freedom and joy for these beagles. Brenda—consider yourself notified: road trips aplenty await us!

Rescuing with Purpose: Paving the Way for the Future

Our efforts transcend this rescue season. We diligently lay the groundwork, ensuring facilities throughout Canada recognize that they can entrust these gentle animals to us. Rest assured, they can live many more years outside the cage than inside.

A Call to Action This Giving Season

In times like these, collective efforts can spark monumental change. We encourage you to search within your heart and contribute to our our lifesaving mission. Be it through fostering, donations, or supporting our logistics—the power lies in unity and our community.

50 beagles await freedom. An opportunity to transform lives, allowing these beautiful beagles to experience safety, love and freedom, is within our reach. Let them go from LAB to LOVE with your incredible help - one beagle at a time.

Thank you for standing with us and being part of this life-changing journey.
