The Beagle Alliance rescues animals that have very special needs and because of this we maintain a thorough process when considering foster and adopter applications. Animals with special needs come with incredible gifts, and as a foster or adopter, you are not only helping them, you are saving them!
Our animals suffer from varying degrees of anxiety and PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). Usually, they are not house-trained or leash trained and have never learned how to be a dog.
Please download and review the “Foster/Adopt Guide” for more detailed information.
Based on our experience, these animals do best when they are placed in a home with other animals of their same species so that they can learn to be who they are meant to be. We will inquire about this; however, there are exceptions to this rule, so don’t hesitate to apply!
To be considered as a foster or adopter, please fill out an application with as much detail as possible. Our rescue department will review your application and reach out to applicants when there are any adoptable animals nearby.
Please note, our process also includes a phone interview, a home-check, non-family reference checks, a signed agreement and if adopting, an adoption fee.
We ask that you are open to becoming a cruelty free household and do discuss this with you during the interview. We also ask that you are willing to attend vet appointments and transport as needed. As an ambassador, we may ask if you are comfortable participating in ways to educate the public about where your animal came from and about animal in research.
