Rehabilitating Former Research Dogs – Coaching The Humans Who Step Up

Keeper and Kin Project Chelsey Marino

The Keeper & Kin Project, a behavior rehabilitation initiative founded by Chelsey Marino, canine behavioral expert and founder of Command Canine

The Keeper & Kin Project is the only training initiative in North America solely dedicated to rehabilitating former research dogs. This project was created in direct response to the growing need for support for dogs who’ve survived life in laboratories, hoarding environments, long-term sheltering, or extreme neglect.

The Keeper & Kin Project provides customized rehabilitation plans, ongoing behavioral assessments, and coaching for the humans who care for these dogs, whether they’re sanctuary staff, fosters, or adopters.

Research Beagle

Every research beagle comes with their own quirks, fears, and learned behaviors.

If you try to wing it, follow generic training advice, or assume they’ll “figure it out,” you’re not just delaying progress; you could create serious, lasting issues.

That’s why The First Steps to Forever isn’t just a helpful resource; it’s the roadmap for successfully bringing home a former research beagle.

  •  Most trainers don’t understand these dogs.
  •  Most online advice won’t apply to them.
