We are thrilled to speak with Jessica about how she got started in journalism, her love and passion for animals and how being a voice for them has shaped her entire life. As well, what Jessica, as an expert thinks, the future lies for animals in research in Canada.

Jessica Scott-Reid is a freelance journalist and animal advocate. She has covered animal rights and welfare topics, as well as environmental and food systems stories for about the last decade, for major media across Canada and the US. She is a regular contributor to The Toronto Star, Globe and Mail, Winnipeg Free Press, Sentient, and more. She is also a member of the board of directors at the Winnipeg Humane Society, and is mom to daughter Clover, three dogs and a fish.
